Optimize Your Business Email for Mobile
Many reports have highlighted smartphone and mobile device adoption trends, emphasizing how consumer adoption of technology is shaping corporate investments and strategies. For example, a recent case study from Matt Swan, client strategist for Affiliate Window, used data from basket abandonment publisher Ve Interactive to highlight how more consumers today prefer to access emails on mobile devices. For this reason, small businesses must pursue mobile optimized business email for their employees.
“One of the most rapidly evolving phenomenons in how consumers are accessing information digitally is the devices they’re turning to in order to access their emails,” Swan wrote. “In fact, 41 percent of emails are currently viewed on a mobile device. With this figure widely expected to surpass desktop by the end of this year, there are clear opportunities and threats for advertisers in how they approach mobile email opportunities in the performance channel.”
As an example of this trend, Swan also noted the significant growth over the past few years in efforts to re-target customers who have abandoned their baskets online. When combining this trend and the rise in mobile e-commerce use, Swan explained that re-targeting customers through mobile devices is further enabled.
“Just as we see sectors such as group buying significantly over indexing in terms of the share of sales generated through mobile devices, we also see basket abandonment emails outperform other publisher types generating sales through mobile handsets,” Swan wrote.
Pursuing Mobile Optimized Business Email for Success
As more consumers adopt smartphones to interact with companies, businesses can make certain adjustments to marketing and correspondence strategies in order to better reach customers and grow the business. A recent BizReport article reported that research from digital marketing firm Knotice found that companies who do not optimize email campaigns to be viewed on mobile devices are at risk of undermining their success with customer engagement. Knotice research suggested that up to half of all emails will be opened on a mobile device during the next six months. In addition, a recent report from email marketing service provider BlueHornet showed that roughly two-thirds of consumers were willing to act on a mobile email they received and make a purchase.
Small businesses can take advantage of mobile technology in other ways as well. For example, with a hosted PBX system from AccessDirect, SMBs can take advantage of Find Me Follow Me functionality to make sure that important communications reach an individual wherever they are located. The virtual office phone system also provides users with convenient voicemail to email and fax to email features to channel different communication modes into a user’s email inbox, streamlining all communications and allowing the mobile platform to be fully utilized for both internal and external purposes.
With AccessDirect voicemail to email solutions you can now get voicemail to text notifications to your business email account optimized for your mobile devices.
