When I say professional recording artist, what is the first thing that comes to mind? You probably thought about a singer like Rhianna or Beyonce. However, to me it means something different. I like to tell my friends I am a professional recording artist because I do a lot of the professional recordings here at AccessDirect. We offer several voice options as well as instructions if you wish to record yourself.
I have noticed that recording a greeting for the first time seems to be the most difficult part of using our service. Lucky for you, that is where I come in. But if you still would like to record it yourself, here are a few helpful hints to make sure your greeting sounds like a professionally recorded greeting.
• Plan out exactly what you want the greeting to say, write it down or type it up so you know you have it perfect.
• Read your greeting out loud a few times before you record it to make sure it flows off of your tongue with no snags
• When you record it use a towel (a washcloth works the best) to help filter out background sounds
• Make sure you listen to your recording to make sure you like the way it sounds. If you don’t like it, keep recording it until you do or have one of our professional recording artists record it for you.
• Lastly and most important, make sure you save your greeting.
Your greeting is the most influential part of your entire programming. It is the first impression your customers receive about your company; make it count.
